Peter Wingfield
Best Actor in a Motion Picture

Peter Wingfield was born in Cardiff, South Wales. He trained as a doctor at Brasenose College, Oxford University, and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London. His drama training was at the National Youth Theatre in Wales and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.


Peter made his television debut in the movie Antonia and Jane before going on to play the lead in three different television drama series: Soldier, Soldier for Central TV; Granada TV’s Medics; and The Men ‘s Room, a five-part serial BBC TV. He also appeared in the feature film Uncovered. Some of Peter’s work in television series includes the lead in Noah ‘s Ark and the Methos character in Highlander: The Series. Peter recently returned to the Highlander team for the making of Queen of Swords.


Peter’s theatre work includes Point Valaine at the Chichester Festival Theatre, The Rules of the Game adapted by David Hare for the Almeida Theatre and a national tour with The Game of Love and Chance followed by a season at the Royal National Theatre. Peter’s films include Antonia and Jane, Taxi Driver, Uncovered, Max, Highlander: Endgame, Methos, A Wilderness Station, Rev. McBain and Miracle of the Cards.


A former National Trampoline Champion, Peter ran both the 1995 & 1997 London Marathon in 3 hours. He plays saxophone and flute and holds an Advanced Level Stage Fighting Certificate.

Peter met his wife on the Highlander set. She was his makeup artist. Peter and Carolyn have one son and are very active in UNICEF’s Growing Up Alone children’s campaign.
