Kirk Cameron
Best Actor
in a Motion Picture

Kirk Cameron’s acting career started at the age of nine on shows such as Lou Grant, Code Red, Brett Maverick, and in television movies such as, Children in the Crossfire, Goliath Awaits, Starflight One, Beyond Witch Mountain, and The Woman Who Willed A Miracle. He was 10 years old when he got his first starring role in the television series Two Marriages. Cameron’s first film role was with Robin Williams in The Best of Times.

Kirk is best known for his role as teen heartthrob, Mike Seaver on the award-winning ABC series Growing Pains. Kirk received two Golden Globe award nominations for that role during the series run from 1985 to 1992. Kirk literally grew up in that series and Chelsea Noble was eventually cast as his girlfriend. Off screen, Kirk and Chelsea actually did fall in love and married in 1991.

Kirk also made feature films during Growing Pains breaks. He was cast in a series of starring roles in productions such as the 1987 comedy Like Father Like Son, with Dudley Moore; the 1988 drama Listen To Me; and the 1991 drama Little Piece of Heaven, directed by Mimi Leder. In 1995, Kirk starred in the Disney movie The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, followed by sitcom Kirk and the 1998 Disney Special You Lucky Dog. Kirk was also the host of the PAX special Santa ‘s Funniest Moments.

Author as well as actor, Kirk Cameron was nominated for the 2001 CFT Excellence Award for his role in the film, Miracle of the Cards. Prior to Miracle, he starred in the apocalyptic thriller Left Behind, based on The New York Times best-selling novel of the same name. Chelsea co-starred in that film with him and they have recently completed filming the sequel, Tribulation Force.

Kirk and his wife have adopted four small children and summer before last, Chelsea gave birth to their new baby girl. That makes them the proud parents of five children under the age of eight years old!

Kirk and Chelsea work every summer at Camp Firefly, a part of the Firefly Foundation that they created to help families of seriously ill children. Kirk Cameron and ministry partner, Ray Comfort, head both The Way of the Master and Living Waters ministries.
