Ja’Net DuBois
Best Actress in a Motion Picture

Ja’Net DuBois gave hysterical performances week after week and year after year in the role of Willona Woods in the long running series, Good Times. More recently, Ja’Net has guest starred on numerous television series including The Wayans Brothers, ER, Moesha, Home Improvement, and Beverly Hills 90210.

Although Ja’Net is the consumate actress, she also sings, dances, and composes music. The television theme song for
The Jeffersons is one of Ja’Net’s compositions.

Ja’Net has acted in the Broadway productions of
A Raisin in the Sun and Golden Boys and appeared in several motion pictures. Her film credits include the Pawnbroker, Don’t Look Back, Paramount’s I’m Gonna Get you Sucka, MGM’s Shaft and Stranded, and Warner Brother’s A Piece of the Action. In 1995, Ja’Net won the Cable Ace Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Other Women’s Children.

Ja’Net DuBois is the founder of the decade-old Pan African Film Festival, she is a two-time Emmy winner, and has been nominated for two Image awards. In 1982, Ja’Net received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Los Angeles for outstanding accomplishments benefiting the city. The list of charitable organizations and events served by Ja’Net will not fit on these pages, but include Heavenly Haven, Arthritis Fund, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Danny Thomas Telethon, Sickle Cell Foundation, United Negro College Fund, Special Olympics, and dozens of religious organizations.
