Burt Reynolds
Best Actor in a Motion Picture

Burt Reynolds, one of the most well-known stars in Hollywood today, has enjoyed renewed success in the past few years with excellent performances in character roles. With over 50 feature films to his credit, including such "classics" as Deliverance, Starting Over, The Longest Yard, Sharkey's Machine and Smokey and the Bandit, Reynolds has recently been seen in The Crew, Mystery, Alaska, Citizen Ruth, Mad Dog Time and the much acclaimed Boogie Nights.

His film career, which began in the 1960s, has earned him many awards, including being recognized six consecutive years by the People's Choice Awards as America's "Favorite All Around Motion Picture Actor". Mr. Reynolds was also the number one Box Office Star for five years in a row, which is still an unmatched record.

Burt's success has not been limited to the big screen. In 1990, he produced, starred and often directed the CBS comedy,
Evening Shade, earning an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a People's Choice Award in the process. Evening Shade marked his return to television in a career that began in the 1950s and includes over 200 appearances.

Reynolds has also performed in numerous theater productions throughout the country, beginning with a New York production of
Mr. Roberts with Charlton Heston.

(well I give you credit - it’s not many men that get shot, then come visit the family responsible.)

“It’s not the family that’s responsible.”

(the kid - you know what I mean)

“No. I don’t know what you mean. The kid didn’t mean to shot me. No. I looked into his eyes. He didn’t want to shoot anybody.”

“You try to raise a kid in the city alone.”
