The Confirmation Suit

Vincent Smith's adaptation of this well known Irish short story is to be made into a feature film next year. Graham Cantwell will be directing this heart-warming tale of a young boy's faith, family, community and his coming to terms with personal responsibility. Filming is due to begin in Dublin in 2005.

The Portrait of Billy Joe

Luciana Pedraza and Robert Duvall screened their new film this month in Austin, Texas. The documentary not only chronicles the heart-breaking tragedies of the life of country singer-song writer, Billy Joe Saver with all of its rage, revenge and sorrow; it also features Billy Joe’s personal testimony of the peace, forgiveness and resolution that he found in Jesus Christ. The Portrait of Billy Joe is a Butcher’s Run Films production.

Wilberforce

FourBoys Films and Walden Media are planning a feature film about the life of William Wilberforce based on a script written by Colin Welland, screenwriter of "Chariots of Fire".

Husband and wife team, Patricia Heaton and David Hunt ( FourBoys Films) will co-produce the film with Exec-Producer, Ken Wales. Kevin Belmonte, Director of Wilberforce Project/Gordon College, has come on board as historical consultant.

The Chronicles of Narnia

The classic tales of C.S. Lewis are finally coming to the silver screen. Walden Media has optioned the entire seven-part fantasy book series for film development. In association with Walt Disney Pictures, Walden Media is scheduled to release the The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe for Christmas 2005.

Acclaimed director, Andrew Adamson (Shrek) joins award-winning writer Ann Peacock (A Lesson Before Dying) in bringing the classic tale to life.

The Visitation
Exec. Producer, Jerry Rose has announced that his Total Living Network has partnered together with Namesake Entertainment to bring another great Frank Peretti book to the big screen. Production has begun on the project which is the second film collaboration for the team following the very successful release of Hangman’s Curse.

Left Behind

Cloud Ten Pictures has announced that they will not seek a theatrical release for their latest in the Left Behind movie series, World at War. Instead the film opens nationwide exclusively in churches the weekend of October 21-23.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the DVD on Tuesday, Oct. 25.

What Would Jesus Do

Nasser Entertainment has taken on the colossal task of updating Charles M. Sheldon’s classic novel and bringing it to the big screen. Written in 1896, In His Steps has been a consistent family favorite for over 100 years. Jack and Joseph Nasser will begin filming later this year and hope to secure the theater release for Easter 2006.

The movie like the book will examine what would happen to a community who asked themselves “what would Jesus do.”
